Pima Dermatology Announces Changes in Ownership and Expansion
Pima Dermatology announced a new partnership. After thirty years of dedication to dermatology in Southern Arizona, Gerald N. Goldberg, MD, founder of Pima Dermatology in Tucson, has transferred ownership of his dermatology center of excellence to his existing partner, Matthew W. Beal, MD, and new practice partner, Sarah E. Schram, MD. Both new owners are Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
Dr. Goldberg will continue to provide his exceptional medical and surgical care to patients at Pima Dermatology. He has assumed the new role as Cosmetic and Laser Surgical Center Director. Plans are underway for a new 2,700 square foot space adjacent to Pima Dermatology. The Laser Center is slated to open by early 2019 and will provide even more comprehensive cosmetic and laser surgical services.
“Having grown the practice over the past 30 years, it was important to me to find new owners who would embrace the high standard of personalized care we are known for, and would keep our trusted dermatology professionals (including me) delivering it,” said Goldberg.
Beal joined Pima Dermatology in 2013, and became its first partner in 2016. In 2015, Goldberg and Beal brought on Schram as the practice’s full-time Mohs surgeon. Beal, a Tucson, Arizona native, specializes in General Dermatology, with special interest in Cutaneous Oncology and Psoriasis. He received his Doctor of Medicine Degree at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and completed his Dermatology Residency at the University of Minnesota, where he served as Chief Resident.
Beal looks forward to continuing to grow the practice. “I feel confident that we all share the same vision to keep Pima Dermatology the same fantastic place it has always been, that our patients have come to trust and appreciate over the years,” he said. “We will continue to build upon that formula, enhancing options for our patients and setting the bar even higher for our practice.”
Schram, fellowship-trained in Mohs skin cancer surgery, is a Fellow Member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree and completed her dermatology residency at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Dr. Schram received extensive training in Mohs and Laser Surgery during a Procedural Dermatology Fellowship at the University of Minnesota. has a special interest in Cutaneous Oncology and Cosmetic Dermatology.
“Stepping into the role of practice ownership is very rewarding,” said Schram. “Pima Dermatology is a truly special place and we want to keep it that way. As we connect with each and every patient, it is our goal to evolve with them. Generational patient care comes with the territory of a well-established practice, and that is just one of the great things about us. We are beyond excited about the bright future ahead for our patients and our Pima Dermatology family.”
