Qualifications & Privileges of Membership

Physician Members

Physician Members shall be licensed Doctors of Medicine (MD), Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or Doctors of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) who are engaged in the practice of medicine, employed in a medical or public health capacity, retired from practice, serving in the armed forces or public service, or otherwise professionally affiliated with the practice of medicine within the State of Arizona. Physician Members shall have all rights and privileges of membership, including the right to vote and hold office, unless otherwise limited by these Bylaws or by Board-adopted policy.

Physician-in-Training Members
Physician-in-Training Members shall include medical students, residents, and fellows enrolled in accredited medical education or postgraduate training programs. Physician-in-Training Members shall have such rights and privileges as determined by the Board, which may include the right to vote and serve in leadership roles, except where otherwise restricted by these Bylaws

Honorary Members
Honorary Members may be elected by the Board of Directors in recognition of exceptional service to the medical profession or to the Society. Honorary Members shall not be required to pay dues and shall not have the right to vote or hold office unless otherwise authorized by the Board.
